xxxxxDakota is the only child of a white middle-class couple living in West Barnstable, MA. Her father, a mutant with the ability to lift heavy things easily, is named Henry. He started off as an engineer who later founded his own company. Her mother, Winifred, is also a mutant, one who has an 'aura' capable of protecting her from damage, and works as a nurse at Cape Cod Hospital. She was quite the 'typical' child until puberty hit and her powers manifested. What started out as sudden, surprising, blasts capable of knocking over toothbrush holders eventually became a tool in the girl's arsenal. Social ostracization from her peers, excepting her group of close friends, during her first year of high school led to some fighting that resulted in her expulsion - a decision that was most likely influenced by her mutant status. Her parents then sent her to a nearby charter school where she managed to keep everything under wraps until her first kiss which resulting in her accidentally firing a blast from her hand that shattered the school's front windows and her rapid expulsion. Now she has been sent to New York where her parents were very relieved to find a boarding school willing to take her.

xxxxxDakota has the ability to produce force blasts from her hands. She is able to manipulate the size (in terms of radius and distance) and power of the blasts, though actual training would definitely be beneficial for her. For example, she could fire a very narrow blast from a fingertip capable to penetrating concrete or a large blast that simply creates a breeze. The maximum radius of her blasts, using both hands, is ten feet. Although there is no trade-off between size and power, the larger and more powerful the blast, the more energy she consumes. On the other hand, approximately a third of the time she currently activates her powers, she finds herself unable to stop them. This sometimes leads to the fluctuations in size and power that she emits as using her powers do require focus and freaking out about not being able to control one's powers is a bit of a distraction. These incidents have been known to last between two minutes and an hour. Her powers may also activate unintentionally during times of heightened stress, adrenaline, or emotional state. The blasts are not visible in the form of light or anything else, though they do produce sound - the loudness depending on the magnitude of the blast. Over time she may learn to maintain 'blasts' for longer periods of time creating a constant force as well as to extend the distance of her reach.

xxxxxHaving grown up on the beach, Dakota is a very decent swimmer. She also enjoys jogging as a stress-reliever. Additionally, has a secret interest in acting and may often practice in private.
