Description
|
xxxxxTucked away off a little-used side street in the Lower East Side, sandwiched between a youth drop-in center and a taqueria, this narrow three-story townhouse has very little to catch the eye. Boarded-up windows, a door peeling its paint, shabby grubby brickface; from the outside it does not look like much.
xxxxxInside someone has gone to great lengths to renovate the building into something more habitable. It isn't glamorous but it is comfortable, old furniture dragged in, the place generally swept clean. The first floor holds a large living room, a smaller dining room, a spacious kitchen, a half-bathroom. There are three bedrooms and a full bathroom on the second floor; the attic is just a large empty space crammed full of boxes with a window out to the large flat roof.
xxxxxThe basement, much like the attic, consists of a lot of empty space. A bare concrete floor, no windows, occasional poles running up to the ceiling. A tiny half-bathroom down here, too. Not a whole lot else.

Notes & Trivia
|
- The Safehouse is one of a few others like it throughout the city. There are a couple in each borough, of varying sizes, although the LES one is the only one dug on-grid.
- These safehouses act as temporary shelter and crash space for mutants in need. Generally found by word-of-mouth, they are spots where mutants can come to get off the streets for a night or three when they need to.
- Though the safehouses are maintained and protected by the Brotherhood, this is not open knowledge among the mutants who stay at them. The safehouses are open to all mutants in need, not solely Brotherhood members -- the Brotherhood has its own more secluded housing for its actual members.
- This means that the mutants hanging around the safehouse at any given time are, largely, not Brotherhood-affiliated. Actual BoM are cautioned to keep this in mind when it comes to what conversations may or may not be safe or wise to have in earshot (or mental range!) of anyone who might be hanging around the safehouses.
- This particular safehouse location plays host to a weekly (also not Brotherhood-affiliated) Fight Club, every Friday night at 10pm.
